Internal Douglas administration e-mails discussing a round of 400 state job cuts say members of the House Appropriations Committee are like children and scold one agency secretary for not being supportive enough of the cuts.

Excerpts of the e-mails were released yesterday by the Vermont State Employees’ Association. The union obtained them after a request for documents under the state’s public-records law.

In one, Deputy Administration Secretary Linda McIntire refers to members of the House Committee as being like children, who need to be spoon-fed information about the job cuts.

McIntire says the union is quoting the e-mails out of context in a bid to embarrass the administration.
