A killer who pleaded guilty in a 2005 double murder now wants the Vermont Supreme Court to throw out his plea and ban prosecutors from using his confession against him.
Fifty-three-year-old James Richitelli, of Eastford, Connecticut, says a judge erred in allowing his incriminating statements to be admitted in court.
Richitelli pleaded guilty last year to aggravated murder in the deaths of Thomas Patras and Valeria Papillo, of Montgomery.
He’s now serving life without parole.
