The creator of the comic strip Doonesbury is sharing some of the things he’s learned with students at the Center for Comic Studies in White River Junction.

Garry Trudeau spoke today of his work process and some of the challenges he’s faced over his 40-year career.

Trudeau says creating Doonesbury now is as difficult as it was when he started in 1968.

The syndicated strip has up to 30 characters and story lines based on politics, the war and other current issues.

Trudeau says it has been pulled from newspapers many times because of its content.

But he says topics that once were shocking to people are now more accepted.
