The Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles has found a new spot for its Burlington office in South Burlington.
Motor Vehicles Commissioner Robert Ide says construction on the North Avenue site shared by the DMV, combined with the state’s desire to find a place that’s more-suited geographically to Chittenden County’s population, have prompted the state to look elsewhere.
Ide says the DMV office will move to Market Street in South Burlington to a site about the same as the current site in Burlington.
No date has been set for the move.
Ide says the new location near the University of Vermont, University Mall and Dorset Street makes it a good spot for the DMV.
