A Caledonian County sheriff’s deputy is out of a job because of an underage drinking party at his home.

Thirty-four-year-old Jeffrey Todd of Lyndon resigned after a state police investigation of the party.

Todd says he was upstairs and didn’t know the minors had alcohol. The owner of the home was apparently out of town.

Eight minors were referred to a community diversion program on alcohol charges. Prosecutors say there wasn’t enough evidence to prosecute Todd.
