Democrats have widened their already sizable majority in state Senate.
They’ve added one seat to their Senate majority, capturing 23 of 30 seats.
Rutland Democrat Bill Carris knocked out first-term Republican Senator Wendy Wilton.
Democrats also captured an open seat in Bennington County that had previously been held by the GOP.
