Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean has asked retired Army General Wesley Clark to support his presidential campaign, if Clark decides not to run.

Dean and Clark met in California this weekend to talk about the presidential race that Clark is expected to enter. The meeting raised questions about whether Dean was trying to strike an alliance with Clark. Officials close to Dean say there is no agreement in the works.
