(Host) In Iowa today, Vermont Governor Howard Dean said he’s virtually certain to seek the Democratic presidential nomination in the next election cycle. On previous visits, he has campaigned on behalf of local politicians. But today he dropped that pretense and sought backing for his possible presidential bid.
Dean says his testing of the Democratic presidential waters has moved faster than expected. He says he’s “seven-eighths” certain that he will run for president. He’s still planning to wait until January to make a formal announcement.
