Acclaimed writer Louise Erdrich has been chosen to deliver the keynote address at Dartmouth College’s commencement ceremony in June.
Erdrich, who grew up in North Dakota, came to Dartmouth has a member of the college’s first class to include women. Since graduating in 1976, she has built a career as a novelist, poet and author of children’s books. She has been nominated for a National Book Award, and her novel "The Plague of Doves" was a finalist for this year’s Pulitzer Prize for fiction.
One of her four daughters is a member of the Dartmouth Class of 2011.
Commencement is set for June 14.
