A second team of doctors from Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is headed to Haiti to help earthquake survivors.
The team is scheduled to depart this morning from Lebanon Airport.
The medical center says the initial team of nine doctors and nurses left Saturday as part of a collaborative effort of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Dartmouth College, Dartmouth Medical School, and partners in Health. The second team will be comprised mostly of nurses from Dartmouth-Hitchcock and led by Dr. Jim Geiling, the Chief of the Medical Service and Director of the Intensive Care Unit at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in White River Junction, Vt.
Dr. Geiling is also Assistant Professor of Medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and has a background in disaster response.
