The new president of Dartmouth College is slated to speak at Brown University on global health and human rights.

Jim Yong Kim, a physician and expert on tuberculosis, became the first Asian-American to lead an Ivy League school when he took the helm in March.

The 1982 Brown graduate is scheduled to deliver a free public lecture at Brown on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Kim spent three years overseeing the World Health Organization’s international programs for HIV/AIDS. He also helped found Partners in Health, a nonprofit group supporting health programs for poor people in Haiti, Peru, Russia, Rwanda and the U.S.

Kim formerly led the global health program at Harvard Medical School.
