Couple pleads not guilty to illegal tattoo charges

A West Rutland couple is  pleading not guilty to charges they illegally gave tattoos that infected a number of people with a dangerous bacteria.

Thirty-year-old Michael Mills is pleading to three counts of unlicensed tattooing. His wife, 27-year-old Tiffany Mills pleaded not guilty to a single charge.

The Millses were released on conditions they stay away from the three people they allegedly tattooed and not purchase, possess or use any tattooing or piercing equipment.

Three of the Millses alleged clients ended up at the Rutland Regional Medical Center with an antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection known as MRSA.

If convicted, Michael Mills faces up to three years in prison. Tiffany Mills faces one year.
