If you’ve had your fill of hot dogs, cheeseburgers and pie from yesterday’s 4th of July celebrations, how about some bean recipes instead?
The humble bean is the source of inspiration for a cookbook devoted solely to just about any bean-based dish you can imagine-and some that you can’t.
Crescent Dragonwagon is the author of the "Bean by Bean: A Cookbook." She lives and writes in Westminster West, and tells VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb that beans are a wonder food because of their nutritional value, taste, and diversity.
