Residents in the central Vermont towns of Braintree, Randolph and Bethel say they’re worried about a missing 12-year-old girl and shocked by revelations in the case to date.

Police probing last week’s disappearance of Brooke Bennett have arrested her uncle on charges of aggravated sexual assault on another minor and her mother’s ex-husband on a charge of obstructing justice by destroying evidence in the case.

Meanwhile, missing-person posters have been posted in stores and other public places throughout the region.

A vigil for the girl has been set for this evening at 8 p.m. at the gazebo on Main Street in Randolph.
