The Community College of Vermont is hoping move its Burlington campus to Winooski.
Tentative plans call for construction of a 70,000-square foot building near Winooski’s downtown redevelopment area.
The trustees of the Vermont State Colleges will be asked Friday to approve the purchase or lease of 1.8 acres to accommodate the $17.5 million building.
The city of Winooski was chosen from among 13 proposed sites in Chittenden County.
The Community College of Vermont serves about 2,000 students in the Burlington area. The school has other locations across the state.
