An English teacher at Colchester High School is Vermont’s new Teacher of the Year.
Fifty-one-year-old Diane Bahrenburg, who was runnerup for the state Board of Education’s best teacher award in 1993, won it this time.
The award comes with a three thousand dollar grant for classroom materials from Hannaford Bros. Co., as well as SMART Board equipment and software for her classroom.
The award and the grant were presented in a ceremony yesterday at the school, where she has taught for 28 years.
