Burlington Mayor Peter Clavelle is criticizing the administration of Vermont Governor Jim Douglas over its energy policy. Clavelle, who plans to run against Douglas in next year’s gubernatorial election, says he’s disappointed the administration is against a requirement that power companies get some of their electricity from renewable sources.
The Department of Public Service concluded that such a requirement could raise electric rates in the short term.
