Vermont State Police say there were no injuries when a car hit a school bus loaded with skiers, forcing the bus into a ditch on U.S. Route 4 in Mendon.

The bus was carrying 45 school-aged skiers and staff from England when the crash occurred around 9 in the morning yesterday.

Police say the crash happened when a car trying to pass the bus clipped the bus’ front corner. The driver of the car told police she thought she hit a patch of ice.

The Rutland Herald says passengers from the bus waited at a nearby motel for another bus to take them to the Killington Ski Area.
