Cabot man killed in hit-and-run accident

Vermont State Police are investigating a hit and run that killed a 27-year-old Cabot man.

The body of Jason Bear was found in a ditch off Vermont Route 215 in Cabot at 8:30 this morning.

After gathering evidence from the scene, police are searching for a 1994 to 1998 dark or silver colored Jeep Limited or Laredo with right front end damage.
Bear was walking on the road last night.

The clerk at the Lower Cabot General Store says he had purchased DVDs from the store last night.

His body was found less than a half mile from the store this morning.
