People in Vermont’s largest city are being invited to a public meeting to discuss a proposed city budget expected to contain  tough cuts.

The session set for 7 p.m. Wednesday night in City Hall’s Contois Auditorium, and is billed as a discussion of $750,000 in budget cuts the city is facing this year, and the expectation that more tough cuts will be coming next year.

The first half of the meeting will be devoted to city department heads making presentations about the impacts of budget cuts on their agencies and the services they provide. The second hour will be devoted to questions from the public.
