A Burlington doctor has pleaded guilty to one felony count of prescription fraud.

Dr. Cynthia Haselton is accused of writing prescriptions for the stimulant drug Adderall to non-existent patients, and then getting the prescriptions filled at pharmacies in Chittenden and Addison counties.

Authorities say the alleged fraud took place between 2004 and 2007. It involves 288 prescriptions.

Haselton received a four-year deferred sentence yesterday and was ordered to perform 200 hours of community service and undergo drug treatment and testing.
