A Burlington cable company is offering the Al-Jazeera network in its cable package, one of few in the nation to do so.

City-owned Burlington Telecom, which serves more than a thousand households in Vermont’s largest city, began offering the Arab-operated network in its cable packages about six months ago.

The network came to worldwide prominence after the September 11th attacks, when it aired statements by Osama Bin Laden. It’s also on the air in Houston, Washington, D.C. and parts of Ohio.
