A Bridport is facing charges of reckless endangerment and simple assault in an accidental shooting that critically injured his neighbor last August.
Police say 36-year-old Tracy Stone was target shooting when a stray bullet hit then-76-year-old Peter Damone in the face as he was standing on his back porch about a quarter mile away.
The Addison County state’s attorney on Wednesday directed the state police to process Stone on the charges. Stone is scheduled to appear in court to answer the charges on April 11.
