Brattleboro is getting ready for a unique recycling program.

The town is looking for 150 households to take part in a pilot curbside compost pickup program.

If the six-month trial works out, Brattleboro wants to extend it to the whole town. Town officials say their community would be the first one to do so.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports the town hopes to start picking up the compost on Fridays in July and August, and the pilot program will probably run for three or four months.

Home owners will be expected to provide their own containers.
