The Boston Celtics are training for five days at the University of Vermont. It’s the first time the National Basketball Association franchise has held a preseason workout in Vermont.

Coach Doc Rivers says it’s nice for the players to go somewhere else and to spend time with each other. During the first day of practice Tuesday, Rivers ran a three hour practice in the morning at Patrick Gymnasium and another session in the evening.

Practices are closed to the public. But some people will get a chance to see the Celtics play a sold-out scrimmage Saturday night.
