The NHL has come to Vermont – for a couple of days, anyway.

The Boston Bruins opened a three-day mini-camp yesterday in Waterbury, with coach Claude Julien hoping a few days out of Boston will help the team improve its play and bond as teammates.

They’ll practice again today and tomorrow at The Ice Center in Waterbury before heading north to Montreal for an exhibition game Wednesday night.

Among the players participating in yesterday’s practice was a familiar face – even if it was hidden beyind a mask.

Tim Thomas, a former standout at UVM who now tends goal for the Bruins, practiced with the team during its 90-minute workout yesterday.
