(Neal Charnoff) “Learning to Drive” is the debut novel by Corinth author Mary Hays. The book is a humorous and compassionate exploration of community and religious faith.

Charlotte McGuffey is looking for answers about her estranged husband’s final days. She travels with her two young sons to the fictional town of Beede, Vermont, where her husband was last seen alive before being struck by a car. As Charlotte was raised as a Christian Scientist, her feelings of guilt and confusion lead her to question her fundamental beliefs.
