Bode Miller Takes Bronze In Downhill

Bode Miller has broken his personal streak of championship mishaps by taking bronze in the Olympic downhill.

The New Hampshire native finished just 0.09 seconds behind gold medal winner Didier Defago of Switzerland.

Miller won two silvers at the 2002 Salt Lake City Games but was shutout at the Turin games four years ago, making more headlines for his late-night partying than his skiing.

Miller also failed to win a medal at the 2007 and 2009 world championships and considered retiring over the summer before the 2010 Olympics lured him back.

Miller becomes the first American to win three medals in Alpine skiing at the Olympics. His medal is also the first for the U.S. in the men’s downhill since Tommy Moe won gold at the 1994 Lillehammer Games.
