There’s no resolution yet on the future of embattled Brattleboro police chief John Martin.

The Select Board spent much of the day yesterday behind closed doors hearing testimony from seven police officers on whether the chief should be kept on. Another executive session is set for Monday.

Town Manager Barbara Sondag has recommended to the board that Martin be dismissed for what she terms failing to perform his duties in an acceptable manner.

A consultant hired by the town recently blamed the chief and the department’s patrol commander for low morale on the town police force.
