The Development Review Board in Moretown has rejected a proposal for a quarry off Vermont Route 100-B. The board’s 16-page decision cited concerns that the project would increase heavy truck traffic, be too noisy and possibly contaminate groundwater.
A lawyer for Rivers Development, the company looking to develop the quarry, says he and his client will take a bit of time to decide whether to appeal to the state Environmental Court. A series of hearings on the proposal earlier this year drew big crowds to Moretown Town Hall.
