Vermont’s Roman Catholic bishop is urging parishioners of a Mount Holly church destroyed by fire to keep a positive outlook on the situation.

In a letter to the congregation, Bishop Salvatore Matano says the parishioners of St. Mary’s Church would be welcome at St. Patrick’s Church in Wallingford.

The church building was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived early Sunday morning.

Mount Holly Fire Chief Jim Seward said the cause of the fire had not been determined.

No decision has been made on whether to rebuild the Mount Holly church.
