When the President and co-owner of the Jay Peak Ski resort announced last week a new economic plan for the Northeast Kingdom, what really drew attention was the number of jobs he said will be created if the initiative goes ahead.

Bill Stenger was joined by Vermont’s full congressional delegation when he talked about the plan to bring 10,000 jobs to one of the most under-employed regions of Vermont. He said the plan would be untenable without a 3-year extension of the EB-5 program, which rewards foreign investors who locate businesses in the United States to obtain visas.

Bill Stenger says a new Korean bio-tech firm, a German Window manufacturer, and plans to modernize the Newport Airport are all projects he and his partners feel are perfectly suited to the most remote area of the state.
