The New Hampshire House is scheduled to consider a bill today that would allow 17-year-olds vote in primary elections, as long as they turn 18 in time for the general election.

The Senate has already approved the bill; a House committee has recommended that the bill be studied further.

The question is whether the change would be prohibited by the state Constitution, which grants the right to vote to residents identified as "18 years of age and upwards.”

The attorney general’s office recommended that the Legislature take the question to the high court.
