A bicyclist is in critical condition today after being struck by a pickup truck while riding on Route 30 in Jamaica.
Vermont State Police say 47-year-old Mark Goell, of Jamaica, was headed north when a pickup driven by 72-year-old Peter O’Brien, of Amagansett, New York, veered into the northbound lane and hit him with the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Thrown from his bike, Goell suffered serious head and body injuries and taken by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcok Medical Center, where he’s listed in critical condition.
O’Brien wasn’t immediately charged, but State Police say the crash remains under investigation.
