Work crews have reconnected a water pipeline linking the town of Bennington to a water treatment plant in Woodford as they work on repairs from Irene.
Meanwhile, work continues on a key bridge on Route 9, the east-west highway just north of the Massachusetts line. Both the bridge and pipeline were damaged after flooding from the storm.
Bennington Town Manager Stuart Hurd tells the Bennington Banner a no "boil water order" would be necessary because of chlorine residual in the water lines.
