The community of Bennington will again provide the state Christmas tree this year.

This year’s blue spruce will stand in front of the Statehouse in Montpelier. The tree was cut Monday from private property in Old Bennington.

Last year the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce delivered the Capitol Christmas Tree to Washington, D.C.

Many of the volunteers involved in last year’s effort will help bring the tree to Vermont’s state capital.

This year’s tree will travel to its destination by antique Mack Truck, arriving in Montpelier for a tree lighting ceremony scheduled for Monday.
