The northern section of the Bennington Bypass may be open by year’s end, but a welcome center planned for the site is coming more slowly.
The Bennington Banner reports that state officials have told the town a contractor working on the northern leg of the bypass could be done as soon as November, even though the company, J.A. McDonald, has until next July to finish the job.
Also scheduled to open next summer was a welcome center to be operated by the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce. But that project isn’t expected to meet its deadline.
