A Beecher Falls man has been charged with shooting at law enforcement officers during a ten hour stand-off at his home.

No one was hurt in the incident.

Fifty-one year old Malcom Roy has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a law enforcement officer.

Police were called on Wednesday night by a friend of Roy’s who said Roy was despondent and suicidal.

Police say Roy became angry when law enforcement tried to talk to him and put lights on his home.

Police say Roy shot at a sugar shack and into the woods where officers were hiding.

Police say officers spent hours trying to talk him out of the house by telephone before arresting him at 5 o’clock yesterday morning.
