The Vermont Air Guard base at the Burlington airport is one of 10 sites around the country being considered as a home for the new fleet of F-35 fighter planes being developed by the Department of Defense. Brigadier General Steve Cray, assistant adjutant general for the Vermont Guard, talks with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about why the Vermont Air Guard wants these planes, and responds to some of the community criticism about noise and environmental impact.
