(Host) The Agency of Transportation has released a new draft of a policy plan that lays out what upgrades are needed to the state’s rail system.

Officials say that getting commercial goods off trucks and moving them by rail instead has environmental benefits not to mention saving on wear and tear on the highways. And they say it’s good for passenger service, too.

The agency will present the plan and take comments on it this evening at 7 at interactive television sites around the state.
