A $2,500 reward is being offered for information about the theft of dynamite from a quarry last week.

The dynamite, along with detonation cord, aluminum poles and brass fittings, was taken from the Rock of Ages Quarry in Bethel on Wednesday or Thursday.

Vermont State Police Detective Trooper Brian Berry says the thieves got through a locked gate and then broke into several locked buildings to steal the materials, along with some power equipment.

He says there’s no indication the incident involves a terrorist threat or a threat to national security.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call the Vermont State Police Royalton Office.
