The 2012 Summer Olympics have technically already started, with some soccer games and other events taking place, but the games officially get started with opening ceremonies tonight in London.
And while you might not think Vermont when you think "summer Olympians" there are some Vermonters competing in the London games, and we’re going to hear about them now.
One veteran reporter and Vermonter has covered the Olympic Games 11 times. Andy Gardiner’s bylines have been found in both the Burlington Free Press and USA Today, and VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb asked him first about the significance of these games being held once again in the UK.
