Vermont’s Hunting Culture

Hunting is a way of life for many in our region.  Bow and arrow seasons for deer and turkeys
are already underway, and so are the seasons for black bear and moose.  We explore the traditions and culture of
hunting in Vermont-what it says
about our rural heritage, how it’s influenced environmental conservation, and
how our attitudes have changed over time.
We talk with Drew University anthropologist Marc Boglioli.
He’s written
the book, A Matter of Life and Death:
Hunting in Contemporary Vermont.
And, we also hear from former Burlington Free Press Outdoors editor Matt Crawford, who now works for Pale Morning Media, which specializes in the outdoors industry.
