Vermont Reads 2011: "To Kill A Mockingbird"

Every year, VPR collaborates with
the Vermont Humanities Council to support its state-wide community reading
program Vermont Reads. The book selected this year: "To Kill A Mockingbird,"
the 1961 Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Harper Lee.

As part of VPR’s week-long
series, we are broadcasting live from an auditorium at Burr & Burton Academy in Manchester. We talk to English teachers Sunny Wright and Wil
Mackey, two ninth grade classes that have just finished reading the book, and
an assortment of upperclassmen about the ways "To Kill A Mockingbird" resonates
with them today, 50 years after it was first published.
