The Vermont Yankee nuclear plant hopes to renew its license
for an extra 20 years, but first it has to win approvals, not only from the
federal government, but in Vermont. The plant’s favorable price
arrangement has saved Vermonters
millions in energy costs, but will it continue to be reliable and safe for another 20 years?
We look at some of the issues likely to impact upcoming decisions by the
Vermont Public Service Board and the State Legislature. Our guests are Montpelier
Rep. Tony Klein, who currently chairs the House Natural Resources and Energy
