Vermont and the Selective Service

By law, young men are required to register for the Selective Service once they turn 18, but the compliance rate in Vermont is lower than it is in many other states. 

That’s why there’s a new proposal to require eligible men to register before they can get a driver’s license in Vermont.  The idea isn’t without controversy and we’ll discuss the pros and cons with David Pinkham, who heads the Selective Service in Vermont and Joseph Gainza of the American Friends Service Committee. (Listen)
