Congressional leaders say they’ll have a health care reform bill on the floor of the U.S. House by June. As more interest groups, business coalitions and policy makers try to find common ground, the question emerges of how comprehensive this effort at reform will be. On the next Vermont Edition, we talk with John Rother, a national authority on health care policy with the AARP, about realistic expectations for reform this year. Rother is in Montpelier this week to meet with state policy leaders about Vermont’s experience with health care reform, and how lessons and strategies from Vermont can be applied on the national level. Also in the program, while Governor Jim Douglas’ office is inundated with messages about Vermont’s same-sex marriage bill, New Hampshire is having its own legislative debate on the issue. The political editor of the Valley News, John Gregg, updates us on where that bill stands. (Listen)

And Troy Peters talks with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about his new post as Music Director of the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio. (Listen)
