If a child is gifted, the assumption is that he or she will
automatically do well in school.  But
that’s not always the case.  Teachers and
schools don’t always recognize high potential students or know how to keep them
engaged and challenged.  We discuss the
challenges educators, parents and gifted children face in the classroom.  Our guests include Noel Bryant, the
Enrichment Coordinator for the Vermont Department of Education, and Jean Olson,
who’s researched the challenges of gifted students. Listen

Also, we hear about next week’s Gross National Happiness
Conference in Burlington.
Organizers say we should be monitoring our nation’s happiness just as we
measure our economic well-being and growth.  They envision measuring
national happiness by tracking a variety of social, psychological and economic
indicators that would give us a more accurate picture of our quality of
life. Listen

And, we read listeners’ emails and comments.
