Soccer, field hockey, cross country and, of course, football. Student athletes have been practicing for the fall sports season for weeks, and injury prevention is a big priority in their training. We discuss what coaches, trainers and parents can do to help students stay healthy while they compete — like avoiding concussion, overuse injuries and dehydration. Our guests are Dr. Matthew Gammons, who specializes in family and sports medicine at the Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic in Rutland, and Grant Wilson, a senior associate athletic trainer at the University of Vermont.
