The calendar says Spring, so if you want to plant a garden this year, you need to get moving. UVM Extension Master Gardener Program Coordinator Nancy Hulett will guide us through when to order seeds, which seeds you should be planting inside right now and which ones you need to wait for warmer weather to sow outside. We also hear from Mike Lizotte of American Meadows and Tom Stearns of High Mowing Seeds who offer their input on planting seeds properly.

Charlie Nardozzi with be back on the program in a few weeks for a full look at gardening, but today we focus on seeds.

Post your questions or comments about seeds and stories about planting below or send them to Vermontedition@vpr.net.

Also, Naomi Schalit, executive director of the Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting, looks at the clash in that state between the impact of wind projects and the desire to develop locally produced renewable energy.

Plus, composer and director Robert DeCormier is leading his final concerts as director of the vocal ensemble Counterpoint this weekend. We hear the personal story behind one piece of the program called "Legacy."
